Christmas In July: A Destash!

It's 2:30 in the morning, and I'm going through my drawers! This is what happens when you have an iced latte at 6:00PM! So anyway, I decided that I should "scale back" a bit! HaHa! Does anyone need to add to their vintage Christmas craft supplies before the season gets here?

I filled a few candy boxes with vintage x-mas stuff! All the boxes are nearly identical, and hold glass picks, a sugar bell, a couple spun cotton pieces, mini ornaments, bottle brush trees...DO YOU WANT ONE?

Instead of putting them on Etsy, I'm offering them to my blogger pals. The boxes are $7 plus $3 for shipping. Knowing me, there will  be a couple other little things tucked in there too!
Just respond to this post if you would like one! :)

OK, I know I was supposed to be getting rid of things, NOT aquiring things! But these were at the flea market a few weeks ago, and I was saving them for a big x-mas post. Oh well...best to just come clean and show you now!

I've always wanted a set of these! And did you see that $4 price tag? Plus the original cute box?????
How could I pass them up? There were supposed to be four different Santa expressions, but I realized when I got home that I have two winking, and don't have one with it's eyes closed. Oh well!

This is a terrible picture of a  bowl that is actually really pretty! How can a bowl photograph bad? LOL
My sweetheart of a mother found this Promotional Holiday Pyrex Mixing Bowl for me! I love it! It's in excellent condition, and she paid only $10! Good job Mama!

Lastly, this is for YOU!

My dear friend Bette gave me this old Valentine card that she gave to her dad when she was a little girl. Out of all the cards I have, this is my favorite one! The white icing is even glittery. Everytime I look at it though, part of me thinks it's a Christmas card! So I've "cleared" it! And you can use it which ever way you like. Enjoy! :)
I better get to bed! Thanks for visiting.

What I Found At Annie's: My Favorite Shop In Town

Hi All-  Two weeks ago I went to Annie's Birthday Sale! Annie's is my favorite place to go when I need to "escape". No kidding, I can walk around for 2 hours there. It's like the flea market to me, I'll suffer through severe foot pain, in order to rummage through rows and rows of vintage treasures!
And speaking of foot pain, there has been a lot of it! I guess I've put it off for as long as I possibly could, and now I have to get real. So I'll be on the phone this week, making all the appointments for my surgery.
I knew I had to face reality when I wasn't even able to get to the flea markets the past two weekends!

Anyway, everything was 50% off at Annie's Sale! The day or two before the sale, I scoped things out and made a mental list of the things that I wanted.

I lucked out, and was able to get everything on my list except for one thing! I missed out on a huge bag of feed sack quilt squares. But oh well. For a girl who doesn't even sew yet, I think I'll live!

I was REALLY impressed with myself though because I didn't buy a single thing that wasn't on my list!

Aren't all these illustrations cute? This is the first "Bonnie Book" I've ever purchased. I'm thinking that it probably won't be my last! Haaa!

I was able to get tons of old cards! So sweet! :)

Annie had another FRUIT GLASS for me! So now I have six! Of course I had to get these fridgies, and the Butterfly Gold bowl (in the background). But one of my favorite purchases is this full size feedsack with all the brite colored squiggles on it!  You should have seen the stack of feedsacks! But I told myself I could only pick out one!

A few more Rand McNally Elf Books. The "Hiawatha" one is really darling!

Vintage Valentines! I'm so addicted it's crazy! I shouldn't be aloud to buy one more...ever!

Also, I'm just putting it out there that I would like to host some sort of Valentine's Swap in 2013, because boy do I have stuff to share!

See these bowls? I DON"T LIKE THEM! Ha Ha! But they were $2.50 for the pair! Maybe someone that loves them will want to trade with me. You never know!

This vintage apron is so soft! And even better...it's not TINY! haha It actually fits me!
Speaking of not being tiny, I've been sticking to Weight Watchers and have lost 6 pounds!
Weigh-ins are Tuesday nights, so I'll keep you posted....or maybe not if I do bad! haha

A book about a Runaway Pancake! AS IF I was leaving that behind!

Unlike the bowls, I DO like this pink gooseberry casserole!

I hope you all had a great weekend, and were able to spend time with friends and family.

What I Found At The Traders Market!

Hi Everyone! I hope you're all doing well. I can't believe that it's been over two weeks since I posted last. My darn arthritis has been pretty bad, leaving me very sore and tired! Blah Blah Blah...I will not go into details. Let's just look at some cute stuff instead! :)

I met Tammy (of Tammy's In Love) at the Elko Traders Market! It's in her neck of the Minnesota woods, only three times a year. I had never been, so I was pretty excited!

Here we are! Me in blue, Tammy the smart one wearing a hat! Boy was it HOT! Tammy was just as nice in person as I expected she'd be! We kept shopping around on our own, and then meeting back up to see what the other had found.

This place was HUGE! There were tables and tables of fun junky stuff to dig through! And there were lots of different buildings to shop in too. It was on a very old farm property I think.

There were things like this...

And this...

And these Composition Quintuplets! Aren't they sweet?

And more good junky junk!

I bought this vintage cherry apron for $3, within 2 minutes of walking in the gate! LOL

I want you to see how darn cute these cherries are! I don't think the apron is handmade, so I might use this fabric for something else. You know, for all the sewing that I do! :) HA HA

And of course I was Pyrex Hunting! I found a pink cake pan, a lime green loaf pan, and my very first New Dot! I also got the 501 Butterprint fridgie to complete my set, and a cute B.P. casserole! Yippee!

I'm sorry everyone! I want you to know that I'm really going to cool it with the Pyrex posting. You must be so sick of all my posts looking the same! Pyrex and vintage children's books...that's me! :)

So here are the Little Golden Books that I brought home. Tammy even brought some for me from her stash. Can you believe that her collection is so large, that she even has duplicates? LOL So I bought some from her. My favorite is this "About The Seashore" one!

Some little "Whitman's" that I couldn't pass up.

And a couple Rand McNally Junior Elf Books.

OK OK I'll quit with all the books! It's just so hard for me to resist! Ahhhh!

Look at the darling little doll's pillow case.

Seriously now... :)

And I found these cute little doll bloomers!

She's playing golf, and walking her dog! I think I can get a few little quilt squares out of this.

And the last thing I bought was this little cookie book.

There's a lot of cuteness in here, so I'll have to post about it later.

Thank you all so much for following along on this LONG post!
Have a great day!

This Weekend At The Flea: Not Too Bad :)

Hi Girls! Well, it's HOT here in Minnesota, and for me that means I'm all about the indoors! I'm not one of those people who just "loves the heat"! There seems to be lots of that type here. Probably making up for the insanly cold winter months, when we can barely inhale the freezing air! But I'm all about the A.C!
The only time I ventured out over the weekend was for my beloved FLEA MARKET.
 Here is what I found...

A mint box full of glass ornaments for $4. I can never have too many you know!
They're like candy! I put them in glass jars at x-mas. And they have a Weight Watcher Points value of zero!

Yippie, my first Butterprint Bowl! It was covered in sticky yellow gunk, so I got it for $4. I used "Bar Keepers Friend", and it came right off! I also bought the Butterfly Gold 402 for $5.

These were my favorite find of the day. Six Rand McNally's for $4. Have you noticed that everyone on Ebay is selling them for like $5 a piece now? I always find mine one at a time at flea's or thrifts, so it was fun to buy a batch!

This doll dress is so soft. And I love that there were little bloomers to match. My mom gave me "that look" and said  "Now what are you going to do with that?"  Ummm....Whatever. :)

More Christmas fun! These will be great with some old spun cotton snowmen.

Whenever I see vintage DC comics I pick them up for a friend of mine. I think he'll like this batch!

I only let myself go to one of the Fleas this weekend, because there is a great sale coming up. It's at "Annies Attic", which is my favorite antique store in town. Annie's birthday is on the 8th. She and most of the dealers offer 50% off! This is MAJOR! I can't wait to share with you what I find. I hope to get some great deals on things I can put in my Etsy shop too!

Ok girls, thanks for following along. I hope you all had a GREAT weekend!
Erica :)
